Title: PFO closure not on NHS anymore.
Post by: Neptune on December 22, 2014, 10:04:02 AM
I heard the other day that the NHS has decided, after much toing, froing, dithering and generally fucking about, that it is no longer going to pay for PFO closure in divers! All divers are being tarred with the recreational brush and it is considered a lifestyle choice and therefore not a necessary procedure. Wankers! If you've had a stroke then they will treat you but not a dci.
Incidentally it costs about £15000 to get it done privately!
